Majors Catches on with Chicago Bears
April 28, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana cornerback Leslie Majors has signed a rookie free agent deal with the Chicago Bears. The South Holland, Ill., and Thornwood High School product was one of 10 undrafted rookie free agents signed by the team.
Majors started four seasons at cornerback for the Hoosiers. He closed out his career with three interceptions in 41 games played. In 2007, Majors made 62 tackles, 2.5 for loss, to go along with two interceptions, six pass break-ups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
His signing comes on the heels of cornerback Tracy Porter and wide receiver James Hardy getting selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints took Porter with the 40th pick, while the Buffalo Bills picked Hardy in the 41st slot.
Indiana and Michigan were the only two Big Ten teams with multiple selections on day one. This marked the first time the Hoosiers had two players selected on day one of the NFL Draft since 1988. The New York Giants selected Eric Moore with the 10th overall pick, and the Cleveland Browns took Van Waiters in the third round (77th pick) that year.
