DENVER BRONCOS 2014 NFL DRAFT CONFERENCE CALL QUOTES (5/9/14)

WIDE RECEIVER Cody Latimer (Rd. 2, No. 56 overall, Indiana)

On whether he thought the Broncos were interested in him
"I never heard anything about the Broncos, so it was a little bit of a shock to me, but it was a great shock. It will be awesome to play with one of the record-setting offenses. I came from an offense that was powerful...so I'm just hoping to add on to this and I'm going to contribute to it in the best way I can."

On waiting out his draft selection
"I heard the mock drafts, but I kept telling my agent I couldn't do much about it. Everybody has their own different opinions. You hear the mocks, but you never know all that's going to happen. So I just came here excited to be picked where I was picked and I'm going to be happy. I'm just going to help any way I can. It was a long wait, but it was well worth the wait."

On playing with QB Peyton Manning
"He's a great quarterback--one of the greatest in the game. He's going to put the ball where I need it to help me make plays. So he's going to make sure I'm in the right place to make plays and I'm going to make the plays for him. It's going to be a great combination. I'm happy to be a part of this. The guys they have--[WR] Wes Welker, [WR] Demaryius Thomas--so it's going to be great."

On his game translating to the NFL
"Playing in the Big Ten, fortunately, is pretty physical. My play in the NFL will be to play physically. I played corners from the Big Ten. At the next level, corners aren't that much bigger. There are some pretty good corners that came out, first round, Big Ten. I'm going to do the same thing, come in and dominate in the NFL."

    On his strengths
"The big thing is just being physical, my catching ability, my route-running. I ran through the route tree pretty much on our offense. Being a playmaker, my speed for my size, playing on special teams, it helps a lot."

On if he returned at Indiana
"I didn't at Indiana. I did it a little bit during practice but we had a good returner so I never got the chance to do it in the games."

    On playing special teams
"I just want to go make plays however I can, so wherever I am, special teams, however, as long as I'm on the field, helping this team win, I'm there."

On what he sees in former opponent and new teammate Bradley Roby
"He's a great corner. He's going to help me a lot and then I'm going to help him a lot. We're going to be battling every day and it's going to make us great."
