May 13, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - IU Athletics has announced new details for the 2011 IU Athletics Tailgate Tour. The 2011 tour will kick off with an event May 18 in Indianapolis featuring new IU Football Head Coach Kevin Wilson.
"I am excited to kick off the tour this year," said Wilson. "Our staff is very fortunate to be here, and we look forward to visiting our fans across the state and talking some IU Football."
The Tailgate Tour is an opportunity for Hoosier fans to support IU Athletics and learn about the success of student-athletes both on and off the field. It also allows IU's head coaches to provide insights on the 2011-2012 athletic seasons. The tour features 8 Indiana stops beginning in Indianapolis and concluding August 15 in Bloomington.
The Indianapolis event will take place at the Rathskeller (401 E. Michigan, Indianapolis, IN 46204) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The event will feature remarks from Coach Wilson, hearty appetizers and drinks. A cash bar will also be available. Advanced tickets are available for $10 for IU Alumni Association, I Association and Varsity Club members, $15 for nonmembers. Children under age 12 are free.
Tables of eight are also available for $250. Table purchases include reserved seating for your group, official Tailgate Tour T-shirt for each guest and one football autographed by Coach Wilson.
Guests will also have an opportunity to take photos with the Old Oaken Bucket and purchase 2011 football season tickets at the event.
Tickets for the kick off event can be purchased in advance online through the IU Alumni Association website: https://alumni.indiana.edu/eventforms/tailgate-indy/
