    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Newcomers to the Indiana football program checked into the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bloomington this afternoon. They will be joined by the rest of the returnees tomorrow and will stay at the hotel during preseason camp.

    The team will host a Boys & Girls Club event at Memorial Stadium from 2-4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday before hitting the practice field for the first time on Friday. Friday's practice is the beginning of the NCAA-mandated five-day acclimation period.

    After two practices in just helmets and shorts, the Hoosiers will have two days of practice in shoulder pads as well. After one practice in shells on Tuesday, Aug. 11, Indiana opens practice in full pads on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

     

     

    Indiana kicks off the 2009 campaign with its first-ever meeting against Eastern Kentucky at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. It marks the first Thursday game in Memorial Stadium's history and the first of six home games.
