Throughout the Hoosiers' 2008 fall practice, IUHOOSIERS.com will sit down and get to know some of the freshmen football players a little better. In today's installment, we asked quarterback Adam Follett 10 questions on a wide variety of topics.
What football player did you look up to growing up?
Steve Young. He was my first football jersey. I always liked the 49ers, and he was the guy I was watching.
What's your best football memory?
Probably signing here with Indiana. It was a dream of mine to play in the Big Ten, so it was nice to finally come through with that dream.
What is something about you, outside of football, that would surprise most people?
I like to ski a lot. I don't know if that would surprise a lot of people. I just like being active.
What other players on the team are you closest with?
Almost every single one of the freshmen, I've gotten to know them pretty well. Then Jamie Lukaszewski, he accepted me, him and Teddy Schell and Mitchell Evans all took me in as well as Dustin Hass. They're all just really good to me. I'm close to almost the whole team, but those guys especially.
If you weren't playing football, what sport would you be playing?
Probably track and field. I like basketball and baseball, I like every sport, but I'd probably be better at track and field.
Did you have a nickname in high school? What's the story behind it?
I didn't have a nickname. They just called me Adam.
How different is the level of football here from high school?
Is there anything that has surprised you about IU?
At first, the speed of the game is a lot different, a lot faster. But once you get in it for a couple days you get used to it and it just seems standard. There's not really that one guy you can pick on in the secondary like you can in high school.
Not really. I was here all summer and the coaches are all intense, really good guys. Looking forward to a Big Ten championship soon, that's their goal. Nothing really surprised me.
What's your favorite food?
Probably a big ol' steak covered in A1 Sauce.
What are you thinking of majoring in and why?
I'm going to try and get in the Kelley School of Business. It's pretty much been a tradition in my family. Every one of the males has gotten into business.
