BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Fifth-year seniors Darius Johnson and Fred Jones are the leaders of coach Brett Diersen's defensive ends unit. Diersen is in his first season with the Hoosiers after serving as the defensive line and special teams intern at the University of Nebraska from 2008-10.
Johnson led the team with 4.5 sacks, was third with 7.5 tackles for loss and was fifth with 65 tackles, 32 solo, a season ago. He finished tied for sixth in the Big Ten in sacks and led all Big Ten defensive linemen in tackles.
Jones has played in 25 career games. He played in 10 games with 10 tackles, one forced fumble and a half-tackle for loss in 2010.

Indiana's 2011 schedule kicks off with a contest against in-state foe Ball State on Sept. 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Hoosiers then host Virginia on Sept. 10 and South Carolina State on Sept. 17.
Home conference games include Penn State on Oct. 1, Illinois on Oct. 8, Northwestern on Oct. 29, and the Old Oaken Bucket game vs. Purdue on Nov. 26.
