Fans who are attending the 2007 season opening football game between Indiana and Indiana State at 8 p.m. on September 1 will receive a special keepsake to honor the memory of former IU football coach Terry Hoeppner.

"Hep" buttons, which are a replica in size and color of the patches that the players will wear on their jerseys during 2007, will be provided to the first 30,000 fans in attendance at the game.

"Terry's impact on Indiana football is everlasting," IU Director of Athletics Rick Greenspan said. "I believe it is important to remember him in a manner that is dignified and best represents his spirit"

There will be an on-field remembrance ceremony approximately 30 minutes before kickoff, at the end of team warmups. The Hoeppner family will be present at midfield for the ceremony, which will be approximately five minutes in length.

Tickets remain available and may be obtained by ordering at IUHOOSIERS.com, by visiting the IU Ticket Office in Assembly Hall or by calling 1-866-IUSPORTS (487-7678).
