BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -Kevin Johns is in his first season as Indiana's co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. He brings 12 years of college coaching experience to Bloomington, 10 of which have been in the Big Ten.
Johns was named the top wide receivers coach in the Big Ten on March 2, 2011, by Rivals.com. He oversees of one the most talented units on the team, including sophomore wide receivers Jamonne Chester and Kofi Hughes.
The young duo gained valuable experience last season and will be a valuable part of the wide receivers corp in 2011. Chester played in eight games and finished 2010 with two receptions for 13 yards.
Hughes was one of two true freshmen to play last year. He saw action in the final 10 games, with one start, and made seven catches for 42 yards in addition to 14 tackles, eight solo, on kickoff and punt coverage.

Indiana's 2011 schedule kicks off with a contest against in-state foe Ball State on Sept. 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Hoosiers then host Virginia on Sept. 10 and South Carolina State on Sept. 17.
Home conference games include Penn State on Oct. 1, Illinois on Oct. 8, Northwestern on Oct. 29, and the Old Oaken Bucket game vs. Purdue on Nov. 26.
