Teams Invited For Free (8-26-03)
August 26, 2003Bloomington, Ind. - Youth football day is set for Saturday, September 13, when the Indiana football team hosts Indiana State at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
In its third year, youth football day gives football teams from around the state of Indiana a chance to watch the Hoosiers play free of charge. Last year's installment saw over 5,000 youth, middle school and high school players attend. Teams traveled from as far away as Fort Wayne, Tell City, and Evansville.
There are two order forms, one for youth and middle schools and one for high schools. High schools need to list each player's name to be in compliance with NCAA regulations. Middle schools and youth teams can simply request the number of tickets they need for players and coaches.
Youth and middle school teams are allowed one coach/chaperone per five players.
School teams that use state school buses to travel to the game can park free of charge but need to enter through Gate 11 off of the 45/46 Bypass.
Coaches with questions can call the IU Sports Marketing Office at 812-855-9517.
