IU Football Lends a Hand on Freshman Move-in Day
Aug. 26, 2009
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Approximately 7,000 incoming freshmen moved into the dorms on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University on Wednesday, and the Indiana football program was out en masse to help. Six groups of Hoosier players helped freshmen move into Briscoe, Foster, McNutt, Teter and Wright Quads, and the Hoosiers also helped move students into the Alpha Chi Omega house.
The Hoosiers helped carry in items and helped move furniture in dorm rooms. They also met with the freshmen and encouraged them to come out and support the team this fall. The team was joined by head coach Bill Lynch as well as assistant coaches Matt Canada, Kyle Conner, Bobby Johnson, Billy Lynch and Joe Palcic.
Indiana will open the 2009 season with their first-ever meeting against Eastern Kentucky at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. It marks the first Thursday game in Memorial Stadium's history and the first of six home games.
