Indiana-Illinois Game Set for 11 a.m.
Sept. 26, 2005
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Oct. 8 Indiana-Illinois Homecoming football game will kick off at 11 a.m. at Memorial Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN Plus Regional and can be heard on the statewide IU Radio Network (Don Fischer, Pete Compise and Joe Smith).
The Hoosiers downed the Fighting Illini the last time the two teams met in Bloomington, 17-14, on Nov. 8, 2003. Quarterback Matt LoVecchio's eight-yard rush for a touchdown with 24 seconds remaining lifted the Hoosiers to the victory.
Last season, Illinois rallied with 12 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to snare a 26-22 victory in Champaign, Ill., on Nov. 6, 2004.
This weekend, IU will head to Madison, Wis., for a showdown with the No. 17/17 Wisconsin Badgers (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten). Indiana enters the contest with a perfect 3-0 record. It marks the first time IU started a season 3-0 since the 1994 campaign. Additionally, head coach Terry Hoeppner is the first head coach since 1905 (James Sheldon) to begin his IU tenure with three straight wins.
