Hoosiers Announce Ohio State Game Captains

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head football coach Bill Lynch announced linebacker Will Patterson, defensive end Jammie Kirlew, left tackle Rodger Saffold and quarterback Ben Chappell will serve as game captains when the Hoosiers welcome No. 9 Ohio State to Bloomington at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The quartet was also named captains prior to the season opener against Eastern Kentucky.
Lynch will announce captains prior to each game. The team will select this year's permanent captains upon the conclusion of the season.
Returning home after a heartbreaking 36-33 loss at Michigan, the Indiana football team (3-1, 0-1 Big Ten) welcomes No. 9 Ohio State (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) to Bloomington for its Big Ten home opener. The Hoosiers and Buckeyes meet at Memorial Stadium (52,692) for the first time since 2005 on Saturday, Oct. 3. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Tate Forcier's 26-yard pass to Martavious Odoms with 2:29 left lifted the 23rd-ranked Wolverines to victory on Sept. 26. Redshirt freshman Darius Willis had a career-high 152 rushing yards and scored twice as the Hoosiers posted their most points and total yards (467) in the all-time series against Michigan. Sophomore wideout Tandon Doss added his third career 100-yard game with 104 yards in addition to 41 rushing yards and a 25-yard TD.
Craig Coshun will handle play-by-play duties and he will be joined by analyst Glen Mason and sideline reporter Rebecca Haarlow. The game can also be heard on the statewide IU Radio Network with Don Fischer (play-by-play), Pete Compise (analyst) and Joe Smith (pre-game, halftime and post-game) on the call.
