Oct. 8, 2007
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana's Homecoming football game against Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 20, will kick off at noon EDT at Memorial Stadium and will be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2. It will be announced no later than Monday, Oct. 15, which channel will pick up the contest. The game can also be heard on the statewide IU Radio Network (Don Fischer, Pete Compise and Joe Smith).
Game times are predicated on the Big Ten Conference television agreement with ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Plus and are often not announced until 12 days before kickoff.
Indiana travels to East Lansing to face Michigan State on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. EDT. The matchup will be carried by the Big Ten Network.
The Hoosiers and Spartans play for the Old Brass Spittoon, which has been awarded to the winner annually since 1950. IU brings the Spittoon to East Lansing after defeating MSU, 46-21, in Bloomington last season.
IU has begun to collect merit on the national level. The Hoosiers received 40 votes in the latest Associated Press Top 25 and garnered 30 in the USA Today/Coaches' Poll released on Oct. 7. The Hoosiers are ranked fourth among teams also receiving votes in the AP poll. In the USA Today poll, IU is seventh among those also receiving votes.
