Hoosiers Talk Ohio State
Oct. 10, 2012
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana football team welcomes No. 8 Ohio State to Memorial Stadium on Saturday evening. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. EDT and BTN will televise the game.
David Cooper has started all five games at middle linebacker this season and he shares the team lead with 36 tackles to go along with four tackles for loss (third) and one pass breakup. He has opened his Big Ten career with back-to-back games of eight tackles and one TFL, at Northwestern and vs. Michigan State last weekend, respectively.
Cooper talked to IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray following practice:
IU is starting a pair of true freshmen along the offensive line for the second straight season. Left tackle Jason Spriggs and right guard Dan Feeney have been in the starting lineup all five games this season.
Spriggs became the first Hoosiers true freshman to start at left tackle since current St. Louis Rams left tackle Rodger Saffold in 2006. He leads all o-linemen with 36 knockdowns.
Feeney, an Orland Park, Ill., native, locked down the starting job in preseason camp. He was an offensive and defensive tackle at Carl Sandburg High School.
