Eckert, Houston Discuss Iowa Week
Nov. 1, 2012
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the ninth straight game, junior Stephen Houston reached the end zone at Illinois. He owns the longest active streak in the nation and matched James Hardy (2006-07) for the second-longest streak in IU history.
The Little Rock, Ark., native surpassed his 2011 rushing touchdown total (eight) with his ninth vs. the Illini and has 12 total this season, which puts him tied for 10th on IU's single-season list with Anthony Thompson (1987) and Vaughn Dunbar (1991). In addition to his 17 rushing scores, Houston has 20 total in his career, which puts him one shy of entering the school's all-time top 10.
Houston talked to IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray following practice:
Sophomore Peyton Eckert has started all eight games at right tackle for an offensive line that has allowed just 11 sacks, one per every 30.2 pass attempts. He finished 2011 with six starts and appeared in eight games.
The Arlington Heights, Ill., native also talked to Gray following practice:
Saturday's kickoff against Iowa is set for 3:42 p.m. EDT at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) and BTN will broadcast the game.
