Memorial Stadium's Greatest Games - No. 4

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 2009 campaign marked the Indiana football program's 50th season in Memorial Stadium. IUHoosiers.com will count down the top 12 games in Memorial Stadium history this season.
A panel consisting of former Hoosier player and Director of Operations Harold Mauro, former player and current Athletic Director for Football Operations Mark Deal, former IU radio analyst Max Skirvin, current Voice of the Hoosiers Don Fischer, current IU pre-game, post-game and halftime voice Joe Smith, Herald-Times reporter Lynn Houser, long-time Hoosier Sports Information Director and current IU Assistant Athletic Director Kit Klingelhoffer and long-time Herald-Times sports editor Bob Hammel deliberated and came up with a list of the top all-time games.
Fans then emailed their votes from this list, resulting in the top 12 games in Memorial Stadium history. Here is No. 4:
Indiana 41, Ohio State 7
October 8, 1988
Anthony Thompson scored four times in the first half, setting Indiana game, season and career scoring records in leading the Hoosiers to a 41-7 rout of the Buckeyes. Thompson rushed for 190 yards and also caught 3 passes for 25 yards.
It was Indiana's first victory over the Buckeyes at Bloomington since 1904 and marked the first time the Hoosiers had beaten Ohio State in consecutive games since 1913. The margin was the biggest ever in the series for Indiana
