    Replogle, Murphy Earn Academic All-District Honors

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana senior defensive tackle Adam Replogle and sophomore safety Mark Muprhy have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District V Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

    Replogle is on the team for the third straight season, while Murphy makes his first appearance.

    A criminal justice and psychology double major, Replogle continues to add to his growing resume. He is a finalist for the ARA Sportsmanship Award for the second straight season, a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, and he was a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy and a nominee for the AFCA Good Works Team.

    The Centerville, Ohio, native is a five-time IU defensive player of the week and leads all Hoosiers with 172 tackles, 14 sacks, which shares 10th in school history, and 24.5 tackles for loss in his career. In 2012, he tops the team with two forced fumbles, which is tied for second in the Big Ten, shares the top spot with four sacks and nine tackles for loss, is tied for first with one fumble recovery, and he is third with 59 tackles.

    Replogle's four sacks and nine TFLs share the Big Ten lead among defensive tackles, and his 6.6 tackles per game top all Big Ten defensive linemen. He has served as a game captain nine times this season and 20 times in his career.

    Murphy is a business information and process management major. He is fifth on the team with 46 tackles and tied for second with 33 solo stops to go along with one sack, two tackles for loss and two pass breakups in eight starts this season.

    Those on the all-district teams are now placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
