Williams Earns All-America honors

Bloomington, Ind. -- The Football News today announced that Indiana senior running back Levron Williams (Evansville, Ind./Bosse) has been recognized by the publication as a third-team All-America selection. The three All-America teams, as well as all-conference teams, will be announced in the December 15 issue of Football News, which goes to press on November 25. The teams are selected by the publication's editorial staff. Williams joins Adewale Ogunleye, Eric Allen, Andrew Greene, Vaughn Dunbar, and Mike Dumas as Indiana's sixth All-America selection this decade.
In nine games, Williams has rushed for 1,222 yards and 16 touchdowns. He is currently second in NCAA Division I-A in all-purpose yardage (205.56 ypg), is fourth in scoring (12.0 ppg), and is seventh in rushing (135.78 ypg). In Big Ten games, Williams is averaging 157.6 yards per game rushing. He rushed for 280 yards and 6 touchdowns in a 63-32 win at Wisconsin and for 251 yards and three scores in a 37-28 victory at Michigan State. He is also one of only a handful of NCAA Division I-A running backs in history to record 2,500 career yards rushing and 1,000 career yards receiving.
In 39 career games, Williams has rushed for 2,916 yards and 30 touchdowns and caught 89 passes for 1,023 yards and 7 scores.
