    Green & Latham Formidable Forces Up Front

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Ralphael Green and Darius Latham provided a glimpse into a bright future as freshmen defensive tackles this season. The duo each earned all-freshman honors after the campaign.

    Green garnered freshman All-American honorable mention from CollegeFootballNews.com. BTN.com recognized the redshirt as honorable mention on its All-Big Ten Freshman team.

    The 6-5, 307-pounder started nine times and appeared in all 12 games. He posted 25 tackles, one sack, 4.5 tackles for loss (13 yards), one forced fumble and two blocked field goals.

    Green made four solo stops, with the sack, two TFLs and the forced fumble at No. 4 Ohio State. Following the performance, he collected Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week accolades.

    The San Antonio native was a three-time IU defensive player of the week (Wisconsin, Ohio State and Purdue) and was recognized as IU's special teams player of the week (Penn State).

    Latham also secured honorable mention on BTN.com's All-Freshman team. He appeared in all 12 games alongside Green.

    The 6-5, 296-pounder true freshman delivered 22 tackles with two sacks (14 yards), three tackles for loss (16 yards), one fumble recovery and three pass breakups.

    An Indianapolis native and North Central High School graduate, Latham came on strong to close out the year. He added four stops with a half-TFL at No. 17 Wisconsin and made three tackles with the fumble recovery the next weekend at No. 4 Ohio State.
