    Kevin Wilson's first spring practice as Indiana head coach is in the books. The Hoosiers closed out the spring with their 15th and final practice on Tuesday inside Mellencamp Pavilion.

    IU Logo   04/18/11: 2011 Tailgate Tour Schedule Released

    Today (April 18), the IU Varsity Club and IU Alumni Association released the schedule for the annual IU Athletics Tailgate Tour. The 2011 tour will kick off with an event May 18 in Indianapolis featuring new IU football coach Kevin Wilson.

    "I am excited to kick off the tour this year," said Wilson. "Our staff is very fortunate to be here, and we look forward to visiting our fans across the state and talking some IU Football."

    IU Logo   04/14/11: The 2011 Quarry Student Section T-Shirt Has Been Selected

    More than 3,700 students have voted and The Quarry Student Section t-shirt has been selected for the 2011 Indiana Football season.

    Each Indiana University student who purchases football season tickets will receive the 2011 t-shirt. Season tickets are available for purchase right now by calling the IU Ticket Office at 1-866-IUSPORTS. The Hoosiers open the 2011 home season when they play host to Virginia on Saturday, Sept. 10 in Memorial Stadium.

    IU will hold its annual Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, April 16, at Memorial Stadium. Admission is free and the gates will open at 8:30 a.m. for the return of Pigskin & Pancakes. The game will be streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com and will be televised on delay at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Don Fischer (play-by-play) and Buck Suhr (analyst) will call the action.

    IU Logo   04/13/11: Coach Johns Works with Wide Receivers

    Kevin Johns is in his first season as Indiana's wide receivers coach. He also shares offensive coordinator duties with quarterbacks coach Rod Smith.

    Johns brings 12 years of college coaching experience to Bloomington, 10 of which have been in the Big Ten. He was named the top wide receivers coach in the Big Ten on March 2, 2011, by Rivals.com. Johns spent the 2004-10 seasons at Northwestern University, including the last five as wide receivers coach.

    The Indiana football team returned to the practice fields on Tuesday for the 12th time this spring. IU will also practice on Thursday before the Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game on Saturday.

    IU Logo   04/12/11: Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game Set for Saturday

    The 2011 Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game presented by Smithville will kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Memorial Stadium. Admission is free and the gates will open at 8:30 a.m.

    Fans are asked to enter the West side of Memorial Stadium via Gates 1, 2 & 3 and to sit in the West stands. All parking lots will be open and parking is free.

    The game will be streamed live on www.BigTenNetwork.com and will be televised on delay at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Don Fischer (play-by-play) and Buck Suhr (analyst) will call the action.

    Start your day with the return of Pigskins & Pancakes located on the West Concourse. You can enjoy a FREE breakfast of three pancakes, two sausages, orange juice and coffee.

    IU Logo   04/11/11: Coach Mallory Making His Mark

    Doug Mallory has returned to Bloomington and is in his first season as assistant head coach, co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach for Kevin Wilson. Mallory spoke with IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray following Thursday's practice.

    Mallory has coached in seven bowl games, including victories in the 2007 Sugar Bowl and the 2008 BCS National Championship Game. He owns 23 years of collegiate coaching experience with stops at Army, Western Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland, Oklahoma State, LSU and New Mexico.

    His father, Bill, is the winningest coach in Indiana football history. From 1984-96, Mallory led the Hoosiers to six of the program's nine bowl appearances. His brothers, Curt and Mike, are both football coaches - Curt serves as the secondary coach at the University of Michigan, while Mike is the special teams coach for the New Orleans Saints.

    With just one week to go before the Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game, the Indiana football team scrimmaged for the second time this spring on Saturday. The Hoosiers waited out this morning's showers and took the field at 1 p.m.

    The Hoosiers practiced on the outdoor practice fields for the second straight session on Thursday. They got in their 10th session of the spring. IU will practice three times this week, scrimmaging for the second time this spring on Saturday. There are only five more practices remaining this spring.

    In addition to his head coaching duties, Kevin Wilson is also coaching the tight ends this spring. Wilson worked with the tight ends as offensive coordinator at Oklahoma from 2006-10.

    Stepping outside Memorial Stadium, the Indiana football team worked on the practice fields for the first time this spring. The Hoosiers wrapped up their ninth spring practice on Tuesday afternoon. IU will practice three times this week, returning to the field on Thursday and scrimmaging for the second time on Saturday. There are only six more practices remaining this spring.

    Head coach Kevin Wilson welcomed over 100 coaches to Bloomington for his first IU Coaches Clinic and oversaw the Hoosiers first scrimmage of the spring. IU ran 115 plays on a sun-filled Saturday afternoon.

    Head coach Kevin Wilson's Hoosiers returned to Memorial Stadium on Tuesday after two practices inside Mellencamp Pavilion. Wilson talked to IUHoosiers.com following Indiana's sixth spring practice.

    IU Logo   03/28/11: Coach Smith on the QBs

    Rod Smith is in his first season as Indiana's co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The Hoosiers return to the field for spring practice No. 6 on Tuesday, but Smith took time to talk to IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray about the team's quarterbacks.

    Smith coached the quarterbacks at the University of Michigan from 2008-10 after one season in the same position at West Virginia University. He helped develop two of college football's most explosive quarterbacks in U-M's Denard Robinson and WVU's Pat White.

    In 2010, Robinson set the NCAA record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,702 yards. He led the Wolverines with 14 rushing touchdowns and threw for 2,570 yards and 18 touchdowns. Robinson also became the first quarterback in NCAA history to rush and pass for 1,500 yards in a season.

    Head coach Kevin Wilson and the Hoosiers picked up the intensity this week as the team put on pads for the first time on Tuesday. Wilson has brought a famous tradition from his previous coaching stop along with him to Bloomington, the famed "Oklahoma Drill".

    Developed by legendary coach Bud Wilkinson, the Oklahoma Drill has become a tradition at football practices across the country from high school to the pros.

    Justin Pagán has played every position on the offensive line, except center, during his Hoosier career. The versatile senior saw time as a true freshman in 2008 and has been a mainstay on the line ever since.

    The Indiana football team headed inside Mellencamp Pavilion for Thursday afternoon's practice. IU hit the field for the fourth time this spring and the second time in full pads.

    The Indiana University football team will be holding walk-on tryouts for the upcoming 2011 season on Tuesday, April 19, at Memorial Stadium.

    Max Dedmond is prepared to be one of the team's leaders in 2011. The fifth-year senior has displayed his leadership during the offseason and through the first three spring practices.

    Coming back from spring break, the Indiana football team returned to the field for its third spring practice on Tuesday. IU practiced in full pads for the first time this spring. Indiana opened spring practice on March 8 and will practice again on Thursday and Saturday this week. The Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Memorial Stadium. Admission is free and the gates will open at 8:30 a.m. for the return of Pigskin & Pancakes.

     

    IU Logo   03/21/11: Latimer Named Athlete of the Week

    Indiana 2011 signee Cody Latimer earned WHIO-TV's Athlete of the Week honor. The Dayton, Ohio, wide receiver is also a standout on Jefferson Township High School's basketball team. Latimer signed his letter of intent on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 2. He is one of three wide receivers in the incoming class, joined by Jay McCants and Shane Wynn. | Video

    IU Logo   03/18/11: Spring Update with Coach McCullough

    Deland McCullough joined the Indiana staff as running backs coach on March 2. With two spring practices in the books, he took a moment to speak with IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray. McCullough worked as an offensive and special teams intern at Miami (Ohio) University in 2010. The RedHawks captured the Mid-American Conference championship and earned a victory in the 2011 GoDaddy.com Bowl.

    IU Logo   03/10/11: Hoosiers Host 2011 Pro Day

    The Indiana football program hosted its Pro Day in Mellencamp Pavilion on Thursday morning. Nine Hoosiers participated in workouts before NFL coaches, scouts and personnel. James Brewer and Terrance Turner participated in the NFL Combine in February. Brewer only worked in position drills today, while Turner ran the 40-yard dash and caught passes from Ben Chappell. Chappell, who weighed in at 224 pounds, along with Trea Burgess, Richard Council, Mitchell Evans, Deonte Mack, Jordan Marquette and Terrance Thomas showcased their talents. | Photo Gallery
