Hoosiers Finish 12th At Bayou City Collegiate Championship

HUMBLE, Texas - The Indiana men's golf team (No. 50 Golfstat/No. 43 Golfweek) finished the Bayou City Collegiate Championship in 12th place, moving up two places during the final round at Redstone Golf Club. Senior Brant Peaper posted a final round of 72 to finish in a tie for 11th individually.
The three-round team total for Indiana was 893 (296-297-300, +29).
Peaper continued his steady play, recording 14 pars, two birdies and two bogey's in his final round. His three round total of 215 (72-71-72) put him in a tie for 11th place individually, his 10th career Top 15 finish.
Michael McGee logged his best round of the tournament with a 72, making five birdies on his round and finished the week among the tournament leaders in birdies made with 10. He finished the tournament with a total score of 221 (73-76-72), good for a tie for 31st.
Corey Ziedonis posted the third-best score on the day for Indiana with a 3-over par 75. His round saw 13 pars, four bogey's and one birdie. He finished in a tie for 53rd in the tournament with a total score of 225 (73-77-75)
David Mills carded a round of 81 on Sunday and finished with a three-round score of 235 (80-74-81) and a tie for 77th. Hugo Menendez struggled to a round of 84 on Sunday and his total score of 238 (78-76-84) put him in 81st place individually.
Texas, ranked No. 3 in this week's Golfstat rankings, won the tournament by 21 strokes, posting a team score of 842 (-22). Brandon Stone (Texas) claimed the individual crown with a score 9-under par 207, including a 67 in the final round.
The next tournament on the schedule for the Hoosiers is March 16-17 at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla., at Las Colinas GC.
