April 18, 2009
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Jorge Campillo has put himself in position for his eighth top-10 finish of the season after the first 36 holes at the Boilermaker Invitational, an event he won last season. As a team, the Hoosiers are in 11th place with one round to play.
Campillo remains in contention to defend his title, sitting eight strokes back from the leader and just four behind second place. Campillo is coming off a medalist performance last weekend at the adidas Hoosier Invitational. The Caceres, Spain native is one-under (143) after carding rounds of 72 and 71 on Saturday.
Alex Martin matched Campillo's opening round with an even-par 72 of his own. He then shot 74 in the second round for a 146 total, good for a share of 19th place. In his first round, Martin fired an impressive 33 on the back nine.
Chase Wright also contributed two scores to the team total on Saturday. The freshman from Muncie, Ind., posted back-to-back 75's and is tied for 46th on the individual leaderboard.
