Hoosiers Tied for Eighth in Strong Field at Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Indiana men's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Boilermaker Invitational at the Kampen Course with a team score of 596 (301-295), putting them in a tie for eighth place as a team. Freshman Will Seger was the top IU individual performer with scores of 73 and 71 to sit in a tie for fifth place.
Seger's day started with a 73 in round one - 17 pars and one bogey - before he came back with a 71 in his second round thanks to four birdies and three bogeys. His total score of 144 puts him in a tie for fifth place.
Sophomore Max Kollin also played a solid first round, carding 15 pars, two bogeys and one birdie on his way to a round of 73. His second round was a little more adventurous on the scorecard but he finished with a 75 for a score of 148 and a tie for 20th place on the individual scoreboard.
The lone senior in the lineup for the Hoosiers, David Mills, got off to a rocky start with a first round score of 78 but rebounded well in round two with a 75.
The final round of the Boilermaker Invitational will take place on Sunday.
