Seger, Kollin Earn Top 20 Finishes at Boilermaker Invitational
April 20, 2014
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Indiana men's golf team registered a team score of 299 in the final round, giving them a total score of 895 for the tournament and a tie for ninth place out of 15 teams at the Boilermaker Invitational.
"I thought Will and Max really played well today," Indiana head coach Mike Mayer said. "They were able to battle through the round but we just couldn't get everyone going at the same time as a team. We have some time to work on things and get ready for the Big Ten Championship in a couple weeks."
Seger was 2-under on his round as he played his 16th hole of the day, but a triple bogey there offset his round as he finished with a 74. His three round score of 218 put him in a tie for 11th place overall. It is his third straight top 25 finish and fourth in the last five tournaments.
With an even par 72 on Sunday, sophomore Max Kollin posted the round of the day for the Hoosiers. He was able to offset a double bogey and three bogeys with five birdies on the day. His total score of 220 gave him a share of 16th place individually, his fourth straight Top 25 finish.
David Mills fired his second straight round of 75 on Sunday, giving him a score of 228 for the weekend. Andrew Fogg had a score of 78 in his final round to finish with a total score of 231 while Nicholas Grubnich posted an 83 in round three for a total score of 238.
The next tournament on the schedule for the Hoosiers is the Big Ten Championship at the Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Ind., from May 2-4.
