IU, Martin Finish Sixth at Big Ten Championship

MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. - Indiana (289-290-306-300=1185) finished in sixth place at the 2010 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship over the weekend. Senior captain Alex Martin was IU's top performer, slotting himself sixth on the individual leaderboard.
Martin opened the tournament with back-to-back even-par 71's and finished with rounds of 75 and 72 on Saturday and Sunday. The line-up played out perfectly with David Erdy and Chase Wright, manning the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, scoring the next two best IU totals.
Erdy tallied 295 (73-71-79-72) strokes to earn a share of 20th place while Wright ended at 303 (73-72-76-82) and a T-36th finish.
The line-up continued to play out in order as Brant Peaper's 305 (72-77-79-77) put him in a tie for 41st and was the Hoosiers' fourth-best total. Corey Ziedonis completed the Indiana line-up, contributing three of four rounds to the team total. The Indianapolis, Ind., native finished the competition at 309 (78-76-76-79).
