Hoosiers Finish Third at Big Ten Championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The #10 Indiana University men's golf team finished the Big Ten Championship in third place with a four-round score of 1,167. The Hoosiers jumped up four slots in team standings on the final day.
Alex Martin led the charge on Sunday by shooting even-par, completing his sixth top-10 finish of the season. His overall mark of 291 (+7) gave him a share of 10th place on the individual leader board.
Jorge Campillo was also a top-10 finisher, coming in sixth place. It marks the ninth time in 11 events this year in which Campillo has been among the top-10. He is a perfect 11-for-11 in placing 15th or better. For the tournament, Campillo shot rounds of 69, 73, 73 and 72.
David Erdy made a surge of his own up the leaderboard. The Boonville, Ind., native jumped 37 spots on the final day before settling in a tie for 22nd place at plus-12. Erdy matched Campillo's final-round 72 on Sunday to go along with his earlier tallies of 71, 78 and 75.
In addition, Chase Wright and Drew Allenspach also competed for IU in the event. Wright placed 45th (305) while Allenspach came in at 53rd (310). Both Wright and Allenspach contributed their best scores of the weekend in the second round. Wright carded a 73 late on Friday and Allenspach posted a 1-over 72.
