Martin's 68 Paces Hoosiers at NCAA Regional

SORRENTO, Fla. - Alex Martin's 3-under-par 68 led the 11th-ranked Indiana men's golf team on its way to an even-par 284 in the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday. The Hoosiers sit in 13th place with 18 holes to go at the RedTail Golf Club.
IU owns a 578 (294-284) through two rounds. The top-five teams advance to the NCAA Championships. Central Florida leads the field at 545 (268-277), two strokes clear of Arizona and 12 ahead of top-ranked Georgia.
Martin is tied for 26th place in the 75-player field. The junior's 68 puts him at 1-under 141 (73-68). Tarquin MacManus of Arizona leads the regional with a 13-under-par 129 (63-66).
Getting a taste of their first NCAA postseason action, true freshmen Chase Wright and David Erdy share 49th place at 145. Wright collected an even-par 71 on the heels of an opening-round 74, while Erdy has secured rounds of 73 and 72.
Ben Hogan Award finalist Jorge Campillo is tied for 57th entering the third and final round. The senior shot a 73 on Friday afternoon to end round two at 147 (74-73).
Rounding out the lineup, senior Seth Brandon shares 73rd place with 153 (77-76).
The Hoosiers close out the regional and tee off at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday morning.
