Hoosiers in Tie for Lead After Day One at Olympia Fields

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Indiana University men's golf team is in a three-way tie for first place after round one of the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational. Indiana is joined at the top of the team leaderboard by fellow Big Ten schools Illinois and Penn State. Each institution in the conference trio shot an eight-over 288.
Indiana's Alex Martin is tied for the lead on the individual leaderboard after firing a two-under 68 in his opening round. Martin was one of only four players to shoot below par on the day. Seniors Jorge Campillo and Seth Brandon each carded scores of three-over 73. A pair of freshman in David Erdy and Chase Wright were not far behind, both shooting four-over 74's.
Martin opened his round with a birdie on hole one, the first of three birdies for Martin on the day. Brandon, Campillo and Wright each posted two birdies in the round.
