Hoosiers Finish First Round at Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invite in 12th Place

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - The Indiana Men's Golf team sits in 12th place after one round at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club. As a team, Indiana posted a team score of 300 (+20) with Brant Peaper leading the way with a 3-over par 73.
Peaper collected four birdies in his round on Sunday and went out in even-par 35 before shooting 3-over par on his second nine holes. Corey Ziedonis had one birdie and 12 pars on is way to a first round score of five-over par 75. David Mills bogeyed three of his first four holes but played the final14 holes in three-over par for an overall first round score of 76. Also shooting 76 in round one was Andrew Fogg, making his first appearance in team scoring of the season.
The fifth score that did not count towards the team score was the 77 shot by Hugo Menendez.
Arkansas is in first place after the first round, shooting a three-over par 283. Northwestern is in second place (288), followed closely by Auburn (289) in third place.
The individual leaderboard is led by Northwestern's Nicholas Lasole, who shot 68 (-2) on Sunday.
The Hoosiers will play with Oklahoma State and Florida during the second round on Monday, starting at 10:00 a.m. ET off the 10th tee. The third and final round will take place on Tuesday.
