Hoosiers Finish 10th at Windon Memorial Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's golf team fired their second consecutive team score of 295 in the final round of the Windon Memorial Classic on Monday. For the tournament, Indiana finished in 10th place.
Erdy was one of the hottest golfers on the course during the final two rounds, shooting an even-par 142 (72-70). His impressive final 36 holes vaulted him into a tie for 20th place overall after carding an 80 in his opening round. Erdy tallied four birdies and an eagle on Monday.
Wright also posted a 70 during the competition. Wright's one-under 70 came in round number two and was bookended by a 77 and 76. His three-round total of 223 gave him a share of 22nd.
Alex Martin was very consistent with his subsequent scores of 74, 75 and 76. With a total of 225, Martin put himself in a tie for 30th on the individual leaderboard.
Corey Ziedonis saved his best for last, firing a two-over 73 on Monday. The Indianapolis, Ind., native completed the tournament at 228 and in a tie for 47th place. He contributed a score in each of the three rounds.
Michael McGee rounded out the Hoosier lineup, shooting a 242 (82-83-77).

The Hoosiers tee off again on Monday, Oct. 12th at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. That tournament will be hosted by the University of California and be played at Meadow Club (par-71, 6,602 yards).
DAY ONE RECAP
The Indiana University men's golf team nearly finished two rounds at the Windon Memorial Classic before play was halted due to darkness. Indiana, in 11th place after day one, and the rest of the field will complete the second and third rounds beginning at 9:30 EST on Monday morning.

Chase Wright is Indiana's top performer thus far, sharing 11th place at five-over. The Muncie, Ind., native was red-hot in round number two before the suspension. Wright ended his day with a birdie on the 15th hole of the round, moving him to one-under during his second trip around the course. With 21 holes to play, Wright finds himself just four strokes shy of the top spot on the individual leaderboard.
Alex Martin posted IU"s top first-round score at 74 and was tied for 11th. After 13 holes in his second round, Martin is five-over and now slotted 31st overall.
Much like his classmate Wright, David Erdy has shown substantial improvement during the second round as well. Following an opening-round 80, Erdy came back to shoot one-over with just two holes to play in his second round.
Corey Ziedonis was Indiana's last contributor to the team score in round number one with his 77.
