Perry Captures Earl Yestingsmeier Individual Invitational Crown

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Kyle Perry fired a final round score of 3-under par 67 to win the Earl Yestingsmeier Individual Invitational at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind., on Tuesday. There were no team scores kept and the Hoosiers had a total of four players participating in the tournament.
Perry opened the tournament with a 72 in round one but rebounded nicely with a 69 in round two and 67 in the final round to get to 2-under par overall for the tournament, winning by four strokes over a trio of players who finished at 2-over par. The 69 and 67 are the two lowest rounds Perry has posted in his collegiate career.
Nicholas Grubnich shot rounds of 71 and 73 on Tuesday to finish with a total score of 221 (+11), which was good for a tie for 17th place. Max Kollin, who was participating in his first collegiate tournament, posted a 79 in round two but rebounded to shoot 73 in the final round for a total score of 222 (+12) and a tie for 19th.
John Beringer was the fourth member of the Hoosiers playing in the tournament and he carded rounds of 77 and 75 on Tuesday for a total score of 225 (+15) and 25th place.
The Hoosiers return to team tournament play this Sunday - Tuesday at the Isleworth Collegiate at Isleworth Golf Club in Windermere, Fla.
