SKOKIE, Ill. - The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (No. 43 Golfstat/No. 40 Golfweek-Sagarin) fired a season-best 11-over 851 (283-278-290) to finish tied with No. 22 UCLA for second place in the 17-team field at the Windon Memorial. The Hoosiers climbed two spots on the leaderboard during rounds two and three on Monday at Evanston Golf Club, finishing four strokes behind No. 8 Arkansas.

"It was the second tournament in a row where I felt like it was a complete team effort," said Indiana head coach Mike Mayer. "We left some shots out there, but it was gratifying to see the team play so well as a unit."

The Hoosiers received a trio of top-10 finishes in the event, led by senior Chase Wright's even-par 210 (70-69-71) to earn a tie for fourth. Wright has been a mainstay near the top of the leaderboards this fall, recording top-10 finishes in three of IU's four events.

"Chase Wright continues to play very well and we expect that from him," said Mayer. "He's one of the best players in collegiate golf."

Junior Brant Peaper torched the links to the tune of a 5-under 65 in the second round, on his way to a 1-over 211 (72-65-74). Peaper's bogey-free scorecard in round two included five birdies. The Tequesta, Fla. native finished in a tie for sixth.

"Brant's second round was huge," said Mayer. "That's a terrific score on that golf course."

Sophomore David Mills notched his second consecutive top-10 finish of the season, earning a tie for eighth after firing a 2-over 212 (71-69-72). Mills was 5-under through six holes to begin his second round, including his second eagle of the tournament on the par-5 sixth, finishing with a 1-under 69. He followed that up with a 2-over 72 in the final round.

"David Mills continues to shine," said Mayer. "If we get that kind of play from those three guys (Wright, Peaper, and Mills) throughout the season we're going to be tough to beat."

Freshman Andrew Fogg tied for 38th after posting an 8-over 218 (70-75-73), while senior David Erdy finished with a 15-over 225 (72-76-77) to tie for 67th.

Corey Ziedonis, competing as an individual, lowered his score throughout the tournament. Ziedonis finished with a 7-over 217 (74-72-71) to tie for 33rd.

The Hoosiers will wrap up the 2011 fall campaign with a trip to Windermere, Fla. for the Isleworth Collegiate on October 23-25.
