Wright Ties for 13th at Patriot All-America Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Senior Chase Wright finished tied for 13th at the 2011 Patriot All-America Invitational after posting an even-par 213 (70-73-70) at the Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz. on Dec. 28-30.
Wright's strong showing was amongst a highly regarded field of 84 collegiate golfers, which included 21 players ranked among world's top-100 amateurs.
The Muncie, Ind. native opened the tournament with a 1-under 70 to move to ninth place after a round that included five birdies. He followed it up with a 2-over 73 in the second round and a 1-under 70 on the final day.
The Wigwam Golf Club, along with the Arizona Golf Association (AGA) and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), partnered with the Folds of Honor Foundation to host the inaugural Patriot All-America.
To show support for Folds of Honor, each golfer carried a commemorative PING golf bag bearing the name of a fallen soldier from the community in which they live or attend school.
Wright's golf bag honored Major Christopher J. Splinter of Platteviller, Wisc.
