Inside the Club de Golf Santa Anita/NT Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's golf team opens its spring campaign at Club de Golf Santa Anita/North Texas Classic, Sunday-Monday on Feb. 19-20, in Guadalajara, Mexico. North Texas will host the event at the Club De Golf Santa Anita. The course is set up as a par 72 with a yardage of 6,884.
The event consists of three rounds, 36 holes played on Sunday and the final 18 holes taking place on Monday. Along with Indiana and North Texas, nine other teams will compete at the tournament, including Arkansas-Little Rock, Cal State Northridge, Houston, Iowa State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Middle Tennessee State, Oral Roberts, Southeastern Louisiana and Texas State.
Tournament play begins Sunday with a shotgun first-round start at 8:15 a.m. (CST). The second 18 starts with a shotgun start following the completion of round one. On Monday, the final round commences with shotgun tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
Indiana will send a team consisting of three freshmen, one senior and one sophomore. Jorge Campillo (No. 1), Drew Allenspach (No. 3) and Seth Brandon (No. 4) make up the freshmen contingent. Sophomore Santiago Quirarte will play in the second position, while senior Scott Seibert rounds out the lineup in the fifth spot.
Allenspach, Campillo and Quirarte are making their sixth starts in six events, while Seibert is playing in his fifth straight event and appearing in the starting lineup for the fourth time this season. Meanwhile, Brandon has participated in three events, including as a member of the lineup at the NCAA Central Regional Preview and Xavier Invitational. He played as an individual at the Wolverine Intercollegiate.
