    Indiana Set to Open Spring Campaign

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 19th-ranked Indiana men's golf team is set to open its spring season at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational on Sunday. The University of North Florida will host the three-day event at Sawgrass Country Club.

    Sawgrass has hosted the PGA's PLAYERS Championship from 1977-81 and held the 1987 Mazda Senior PLAYERS Championship won by Gary Player. It has hosted the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational since 2001.

    Indiana head coach Mike Mayer will send a lineup featuring Jorge Campillo, Seth Brandon, Alex Martin, Drew Allenspach and Ren Han. The quartet of Campillo, Brandon, Martin and Allenspach has appeared together in the team's last five events. Han, a true freshman, will be making his collegiate debut.

    Campillo and Brandon spearheaded the Hoosier attack in the fall. Campillo, who is ranked No. 42 nationally by Golfweek, led the team with a 72.00 average while playing in all six events. Brandon sits No. 74 in the country with a 72.56 average and also participated in six tournaments. Both golfers posted two top-five, three top-10 and five top-25 finishes.

    Martin added a 73.56 average in 18 rounds with four top 25s. He is rated No. 191, while Allenspach sits at No. 243. Allenspach made two trips in the top 25 and finished fourth on the club with a 73.73 scoring average in five events.
