Hoosiers Two Shots Back at Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (No. 27 Golfweek-Sagarin/No. 34 Golfstat) posted a two-round total of 589 (289-300) at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Monday to put them alone in second place behind William & Mary (296-291--587).
Brant Peaper led the way for the Hoosiers with an even par 72, followed by a 1-under 71 in the second round. Peaper's 143 total, which included eight birdies, is tied for the individual lead with Sebastian Backlund of tournament host Franklin Marion.
All five players in the Indiana lineup are in the top-25 heading into Tuesday's final round.
David Erdy and David Mills each finished the day with a 7-over 151 and are tied for 22nd. Erdy started the day with a 73 in the first round and followed with a 78 in the afternoon. Mills fired a 1-under 71 in the first round, which helped the Hoosiers grab an early seven shot lead. The freshman from Evansville, Ind. finished the day with an 80.
Hugo Menendez, competing as an individual, posted a 167 (85-82) and is tied for 73rd.
The Hoosiers will be seeking their third straight stroke play tournament title as the final round will begin with a shotgun start on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
