The Big Ten Network was out in full force at the first annual Big Ten Match Play Championship and will air a three-hour broadcast of the event three times over the next two weeks. The Indiana Hoosiers won three straight matches en route to the event title.
Jim Kelly and Lance Ringler will provide in-depth analysis and commentary throughout the broadcast that includes all the highlights and interviews.
Under the watchful eye of the world-famous Goodyear Blimp, Head Coach Mike Mayer and his Indiana Hoosiers defeated Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan down in Coral Springs, Fla. It was a complete team effort as all six members of the lineup earned at least 1.5 points during the three-match run to the championship. Jorge Campillo led the charge with his 3-0 weekend, including a 4 and 2 victory over Michigan's Lion Kim in the finals to seal the deal.
In addition, Coach Mayer was asked to be a part of GolfWeek's podcast following his team's victory. Click here to take a listen and hear what Coach Mayer had to say about the Big Ten Match Play Championship.
