IU to Face Stanford in First Round of Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's golf team will compete in their second tournament of the spring season, staring play Sunday (March 21) morning at the 2010 Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship.
It is a 16-team, bracket-style tournament with no medal play rounds involved in this year's competition. Indiana will face the top-seeded Stanford Cardinal in the opening round.
A shotgun start is slated for 8 a.m. local time with the second round or first round of consolations beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m. The event will wrap up with one round per day on Monday and Tuesday (March 22-23).

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain in Marana, Ariz., will serve as the host course. The Callaway Collegiate Match Play is to be contested on the Saguaro and Tortolita nines, just as is the Accenture Match Play Championship. They form a par 72 that measure 7,833 yards.
