Catch the 18th-Ranked Hoosiers at the Hoosier Invitational
March 25, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Fans, make your plans to catch the 18th-ranked Indiana men's golf team this weekend. It's your only chance this year to watch the Hoosiers on their home course, as they host the Hoosier Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, March 29-30, at the IU Golf Course. Admission is free.
IU will welcome 16 teams for the weekend. The teams will play 36 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday followed by the final 18 holes starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The Hoosiers are coming off a 24-shot victory at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate (March 16-18). Junior Seth Brandon earned the second victory of his career by one shot and became the first Hoosier golfer to take home Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors since Jorge Campillo did so following last year's IU victory at Pinehurst.
This is the second year of the Hoosier Invitational. The Hoosiers hosted the event on Sept. 27-28, 2003, and earned the team title by 33 strokes. IU placed four players in the top 10, led by current PGA TOUR member Jeff Overton, who won medalist honors by five shots.
