Beringer Notches Top-Five Finish at BSU Cardinal Collegiate

JASPER, Ind. - A trio of Hoosier freshmen competed in the 2010 Ball State Cardinal Collegiate over the weekend, including John Beringer and his top-five performance. Beringer took a share of fourth place on the individual scoreboard after carding a three-round score of 220 (+4).
Beringer, competing his first collegiate event, was consistent throughout the competition, posting rounds of 73, 74 and 73. Meanwhile, Corey Ziedonis and Michael McGee were also in the field sporting the Cream and Crimson.
Ziedonis placed himself in the top-20 with a T-19th showing. The Indianapolis native concluded the tournament with his best round at 73 strokes. He carded identical scores of 76 in the opening two rounds. McGee completed the Hoosier trifecta, coming in 47th place with his total score of 234 (77-78-79).
There were 83 total players in the field at Sultan's Run Golf Course in Jasper, Ind.
Hoosier fans in Bloomington get the chance to see their IU golfers play this weekend as the adidas Hoosier Invitational is scheduled for Apr. 3-4 at the IU Championship Golf Course.
