Complete Day One Pairings
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (No. 32 Golfweek/Sagarin, No. 31 Golfstat) hosts the NYX Hoosier Invitational on April 7-8 at the IU Golf Course. The tournament marks the first stroke play competition of the spring season for the Hoosiers as the Cream and Crimson look for their fourth consecutive team title at the event.
The first two rounds will begin on Saturday with a continuous shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., followed by an 18-hole final round shotgun starting at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The 15-team field for the tournament includes Butler, Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Illinois State, IPFW, IUPUI, Indiana, Northwestern, Oakland, Ohio, SIU Edwardsville, Western Illinois, Wright State, and Youngstown State.
The IU Golf Course is a par-71, 6,813 yard layout, designed by Jim Soutar. The track has a course rating of 72.6 and a slope of 132.
Indiana has dominated their home tournament in recent season, winning the past three Hoosier Invitational team titles by a combined 78 strokes. Last season, the Hoosiers posted an even par 852 (279-283-290) to win by 15 shots over runner-up Cleveland State. David Erdy
had the top finish among the Hoosiers, tying for second after posting a 3-under 210 (68-70-72).
HOOSIERS IN THE RANKINGS
Indiana enters the weekend as the highest ranked team in the field at No. 31 in the latest Golfstat rankings with Northwestern next at No. 56. The Hoosiers are currently the second highest rated team in the Big Ten, just behind Iowa at No. 26.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers are coming off a fifth place finish at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship at The Concession GC in Bradenton, Fla. on March 18-20. Indiana was 3-1 in the event, notching wins over Kennessaw State, Tennessee, and ECU with their lone defeat coming to No. 17 Duke. Erdy led the way with a perfect 4-0 mark and earned Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week honors for the performance.
The Hoosiers competed in five stroke play events during the 2011 spring campaign and finished among the top-4 in four of those competitions. Indiana captured their second straight Firestone Invitational team title during that stretch, led by Chase Wright's runner-up finish.
- Wright enters the weekend with a team-best 2011-12 stroke average of 71.67. He is on pace for the fourth best all-time IU season stroke average.
- The Hoosiers have three players with career stroke averages under 74, including Wright (73.20), Mills (73.55), and Erdy (73.57).
- Wright has the third lowest IU career stroke average behind Jeff Overton (71.72) and Jorge Campillo (72.22). Mills and Erdy are fifth and sixth on the IU career scoring list.
