This will be the sixth edition of the Hoosier Invitational, and the second year in which the event is sponsored by NYX. Indiana has won the title three times (2009-11) and finished no worse than fourth in the event.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with a shotgun start at the IU Golf Course. The participants will play 36 holes continuously. Then on Sunday, the final 18 holes will take place with a shotgun start at 9:00 p.m.

The Hoosiers will be part of a 18-team field that will feature a number of other schools from the Midwest Region. The teams include:

Indiana University (Host), Butler University, University of Dayton, Detroit Mercy University of Evansville, Illinois State, IPFW, IUPUI, Miami University, University of Michigan, Oakland University, Ohio University, SIU Edwardsville, University of Toledo, Western Illinois, Wright State, Youngstown State and a Indiana "B" team.

Indiana enters this weekend's tournament ranked No. 53 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. In the Golfstat rankings, the Hoosiers checked in at No. 60 this week.

Indiana trailed Purdue by one stroke heading into the final round of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Flordia, but rallied to win the tournament by two strokes over the Boilermakers thanks to a final round team score of 291.

Individually, Brant Peaper finished second at 3-under par while Michael McGee was tied for fifth at even-par. Corey Ziedonis made it three players in the top 10 with a 2-over par score for the weekend while David Mills was tied for 16th at 6-over par.

The win was the second of the season for the Hoosiers after they captured the Northern Intercollegiate back in September.

The NYX Hoosier Invitational will mark the final home tournament in the career for the four seniors on the Indiana roster - John Beringer, Michael McGee, Brant Peaper and Corey Ziedonis. All four are in the starting lineup for the Hoosiers and have played in this event every year during their career.
