April 18, 1999 MEN'S GOLF FINISHES KEPLER IN 12TH PLACE
COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Indiana University men's golf finished the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in 12th place. The Hooisers began the day in 10th place, and fired a third round score of 306, giving them a three-round total of 927 (307 314-306).
The overall team winner was Northwestern, who turned in scores of 301, 300, and 298 to finish with a total of 899 and an eight stroke victory over Wisconsin 907 (303-298-306).
The Hoosiers were led by sophomore Steve Wheatcroft, 230 (75-77-78), and senior John Barry, 230 (75-80-75), who wound up tied for 24th. The individual winner was Luke Donald of Northwestern. Donald shot scores of 74,73 and 69 to finish five strokes ahead of Matt Abbott of Penn State, 221 (77-72-72), and D.A. Points of Illinois, 221 (73-76-72).
The Hoosiers next travel to East Lansing, Michigan for the Fossum-Spartan Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2.
