Hoosiers Primed to Challenge for Big Ten Championship

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (No. 36 Golfweek-Sagarin/No. 37 Golfstat) will compete in the 2011 Big Ten Championships this weekend at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind. The tournament gets underway with 36 holes on Friday, followed by 18 on both Saturday and Sunday. Head coach Mike Mayer and the Hoosiers will attempt to add to their four tournament titles during the 2010-11 campaign.

BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP REWIND
Indiana has registered a a team stroke average of 290.41 per tournament this season. If the Hoosiers continue at that pace, they will post the second lowest team average in school history. The 2008-09 Hoosiers set the record with an average of 289.42. This season's Hoosier team is also the first IU squad since 2003-04 to win four team titles in a season.
