    May 1, 1999 MEN'S GOLF TEAM IN 14TH PLACE AFTER FIRST DAY

    EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Indiana University men's golf team is tied for 14th place after the first two rounds of the Fossum Invitational at the Forest Akers West Golf Course. The Hoosiers fired rounds of 312 and 302 for a total of 614, leaving them 32 strokes behind leader Kent, 582 (287-295).

    The Hoosiers were led by John Barry, who is tied for 42nd place after firing rounds of 77 and 75 (152). Barry's total of eight over-par is 16 strokes shy of the leader, Larry Nuger, 136 (68-68) of Illinois.

    The tournament will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes to be played beginning at 8:00 a.m
