BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team has received a bid for the NCAA Men's Golf Championships for the seventh time in the last eight seasons, as the squad will host and compete in the NCAA Indiana Regional held at Wolf Run Golf Club in Zionsville, Ind. on May 19-21. The selections were announced on Monday by the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee.

"We are thrilled to once again advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships," said Indiana head coach Mike Mayer said. "This is something as a coach you never get tired of and it is a testament to all the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes."

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 19-21. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

The finals will be conducted May 31-June 5, at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla. Oklahoma State is the host institution for this year's championships.

The Hoosiers are part of a 14-team regional field that includes, in order of seeds (Golfweek rankings in parentheses): Alabama (3), Illinois (11), Iowa (18), Stanford (21), Wake Forest (26), Tennessee (23), Indiana (37), Florida State (41), Michigan (53), Charlotte (59), Memphis (63), Wichita State (112), UMKC (120), and Sacred Heart (212).

The Hoosiers enter the postseason after a successful 2010-11 campaign that included four tournament titles.

Indiana has experience on the difficult Wolf Run Golf Club, as the team has hosted an event at the venue during the fall of each of the past five seasons. The Hoosiers tied for fifth at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate on Sept. 11-12 of this season.

"We are very happy to be making the short trip up to the Wolf Run Golf Club for the NCAA Indiana Regional," said Mayer. "We know the course very well and if we play the way we are capable of playing, we feel we have a very good chance of advancing out of the regional to the NCAA Finals in Stillwater."
