MAYER SIGNS INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR STAR TO PLAY AT IU

Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana head men's golf coach Mike Mayer announced today the signing of Aldo Jordan King to a national letter of intent to begin playing for the Hoosiers in the fall of 1999.

Jordan King is from F.D. Roosevelt High School in Lima, Peru. He has been the No. 1 ranked junior golfer in his country the last two years. He has represented his country at the World Team Amateur tournament the last two years and will be on the team for this year's competition as well.

This year he has won two international tournaments and five national tournaments including Peruvian National Junior Championship, the El Pacifico Pervano Suiza Cup and the Granadilla International Junior Championship.

"Aldo's junior record speaks highly to his ability," Mayer said. "He has had an outstanding junior career and we look forward to him coming to Indiana and contributing to our squad."
