    Stone Signs National Letter of Intent

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Head coach Mike Mayer and the Indiana men's golf program announced that Sean Stone (Evansville, Ind.) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Hoosiers in the fall of 2012.

    Stone captured the 2012 Indiana High School State Championship at The Legends Golf Club after firing a 4-under 140 (71-69) to win by three strokes.

    Along with the individual title, Stone led Evansville Harrison to the team championship, finishing three shots ahead of two-time defending champion Brebeuf Jesuit with a 611 (311-300).

    Stone was a 2010 IHSAA All-State honoree after posting a fifth place finish at the IHSAA State Championship while competing for Evansville Harrison High School.

    The Evansville, Ind. native recorded an impressive runner-up finish at the 2011 McDonald's Amateur after firing a two-round total of 138 (67-71).

    Stone is an accomplished player on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit. In 2011, he tied for 20th at the AJGA Franklin Junior with a three-round total of 225 (74-75-76) and tied for 11th at the Cleveland HealthCare Foundation Junior with a 213 (70-72-71).

    Along with multiple All-City honors for his work on the links, Stone has also received Academic All-City accolades from 2009-2011.
