Men's Golf Schedule Released

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 2009-10 Indiana University Men's Golf schedule consists of 11 regular-season tournaments with six events taking place during the fall semester and five running in the spring. Postseason competition will begin at the Big Ten Championship hosted by the University of Minnesota from April 30-May 2.

Head Coach Mike Mayer and his Hoosiers begin the year on Sept. 12 by hosting the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind. They will then compete in one of the country's elite events the following weekend, heading to Chicago once again for the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational from Sept. 18-20.
The rest of the fall season includes the Ping/Golfweek Invitational (Sept. 27-28), Windon Memorial Classic (Oct. 4-5), Allister MacKenzie Invitational (Oct. 12-13) and Renaissance Invitational (Oct. 31-Nov. 1).
The year 2010 starts in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. at the Big Ten Match Play Championship as the Hoosiers look to defend their title in the annual event's second year on Feb. 12-13. Match play format continues in IU's next event, the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship, held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Course in Marana, Ariz. in late March.
The Hoosiers will then remain in the state of Indiana for the final three regular-season events, playing in the adidas Hoosier Invitational (Apr. 3-4), Crooked Stick Invitational (Apr. 19-20) and Boilermaker Invitational (Apr. 24-25).
Postseason play begins Apr. 30 with the Big Ten Championship played on the Windsong Farm Golf Course in Maple Plain, Minn. The NCAA Regional is scheduled for May 20-22, to be followed by the NCAA Championship from June 2-5 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
