September 9, 1999 HOOSIERS SET TO OPEN SEASON AT HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL
Tournament Data: This Saturday, the IU Men's Golf Team will head to Iowa City, IA to start the new season. The Hawkeye Invitational will be held over two days with 9 a.m. shotgun starts on both days. 54 holes will be played total with 36 holes being played on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. The team will be competing at the par-72, 7,030 yard, Finkbine Golf Course.
The Teams: (17) Ball State, Bowling Green State, Cornell College, Drake, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Iowa State, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Marquette, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Western Illinois, Wisconsin, Wright State, and Xavier.
The Hoosiers: After a mediocre year last year, Coach Mike Mayer is looking to bounce back with youth and experience. Leading the way for the Hoosiers will be seniors John Barry and Corey Sullivan, and junior Steve Wheatcroft. Joining these veterans will be a talented group of freshmen including Mike Miller, Ben Davidson, Aldo Jordan-King, and Drew Meyer.
